Founder & President

Minister Lydia L. Davis is the visionary Founder/President of our nonprofit “You Feed Them Missional Food Pantry, Inc." which was launched in March 2017. Since it's opening thousands of lives have been positively impacted both physically and spiritually. She and her Christ Care Ministers has introduced the gift of Salvation to many who have accepted Jesus Christ!

 

Minister Davis currently serve at Barnes United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana. She has been an active member of Barnes UMC since 2012 upon her relocation from Northern California to care for her ill mother. After her Mother’s death in January 2013, she accepted God’s Call on her life on January 4, 2014. She preached her genesis sermon on May 30, 2014 in Northwest Indiana. 

She currently serve as the Ministry Teams Leader comprised of numerous Outreach ministries, she is the Minister of Missions & Outreach. She also serve on the Leadership Administrative Team for the church. 

In addition, Rev. Davis also serves as the Missional Food Pantries Director, a Teacher and Trainer with Faith, Hope and Love Community Inc since 2016. FHL is a Missional Food Pantry teaching, training and launching non-profit organization. She has taught, trained and helped launch as of 2022, thirteen (13) missional food pantries in diverse churches throughout Central Indiana, with at least three (3) more pending for 2023. Most recent, teaching seven (7) Hispanic congregations during one large multi-church missional Conference. Also for a Haitian congregation for their missional conference. 

Since January 2019, she also serve on the Board of Directors for Metro Ministries, Inc. and on their Grant and Fundraising Teams. 

She is also the Founder and President of her ministry, His Love Kept Me Ministries Inc, her first outreach ministry birthed out of her own experiences of pushing through pain. She has a passion to serve and help meet the needs of those struggling through pain, those who “hunger” for love, hope, help, and healing through ARK (Acts of Random Kindness).

She is the mother of 33 year old twin sons, Steven and Shawn (Melanie) Sanders, living in Southern California. Her son Steven has his own LLC. Her son Shawn is a Premium Sales Account Manager for the Los Angeles Clippers having received multiple top sales awards within the organization.

Minister Lydia’s vision and implementation of the Annual Back-to-School Community Resource Day was awarded a Mayoral Proclamation proclaiming that August 14, 2021 (the 2nd Saturday of August) is officially recognized as “Back-to-School” Community Resource Day. She is also a recipient of a City of Indianapolis Mayoral Proclamation for her “You Feed Them” Missional Food Pantry in April 2019. She is a recipient of the 2018 Urban Servant Leader Award, the 2018 Mayor’s Community Servant Award, 2016 United Methodist Men Servant Leadership Award, 2016 United Methodist Women Special Mission Recognition Award, 2014 Calumet Star Achievers Award from her home town of East Chicago, Indiana; and other recognitions of Service.

Minister Lydia governs herself based on Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Food for Thought: “If you uplift, in unity, the mission and vision of God, Everyone gets the Victory!
